Tummy Tuck London

Request A Fee Estimate

A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure which removes excess fat and loose skin around the stomach area. The muscles of the abdominal wall also get tightened, resulting in a flat, firmer and well-toned abdomen.

When to consider Tummy Tuck?

This procedure is ideal for women whose muscles and skin get stretched as a result of going through multiple pregnancies. If you have flab, stretch marks and sagging skin in your abdomen that will not go away even after regular exercising; the tummy tuck can be a viable alternative for you. Women and men who were once overweight may find that some loose skin and excess fat deposits remain in the abdominal area after weight loss, so a tummy tuck can be done to remove them and create a firmer abdominal profile. Most patients report improved self-confidence and a higher self-esteem after the procedure.

What are my options.?
Abdominoplasty VS Microlipo

In many cases, a simple micro liposuction procedure will help the affected area enormously, negating the need for abdominoplasty.

Full Abdominoplasty

The surgeon makes an incision across the lower abdomen and another one around the navel. The excess skin is removed and the muscles are tightened using sutures. Liposunction may be performed to contour the abdomen. All the drooping skin from the navel to the pubic area is removed.

Mini Abdominoplasty

The surgeon makes only one incision in the pubic area, placed as low as possible. The incision is usually a few inches but in some cases, it can run across the entire abdomen. Excess skin is then removed and slack muscles are firmed up. Liposunction can be used to refine the transition zones.

Extended Abdominoplasty

If you have excess skin that covers the hips or love handles, this procedure could address the problem. This means the incision will be longer. A tummy tuck is done on the front of the abdomen and the lift is extended to the side of the thigh. To simulate this effect, grab the skin on your waist-sides and pull it up the way you put on a pair of trousers.

How long is the recovery?

Take a minimum of two weeks off from work after surgery. The first week in the postsurgical period may feel the most uncomfortable, but you will be advised on how best to avoid pain or complications. You will also have to wear a compression garment to help the area heal smoothly and evenly. Over the next few months, you will then be able to assess the aesthetic outcome of the surgery

What about the scar?

Abdominoplasty will result in a scar, but it is hidden way below the bikini line. Initially, the scars will appear red and prominent, but they heal into a fine, silvery line with proper care. There is therefore no cause for worry.
